Dr. Tim Ioannides is a well-established dermatologist in Florida. He has a credited resume through his time studying at universities and completing his residencies. After completing his first residency under the doctor, Ioannides realized Tim Ioannides wanted to stay away from cosmetic surgery and wanted to dive deeper into helping his patients become comfortable in their own skins. He has created a supportive staff to make his patients feel safe and comfortable upon coming to see him at his office. Ioannides is currently the founder of Treasure Coast Dermatology, where he preaches to be proactive rather than reactive to skin conditions.
Skin conditions can cause very serious damage to both a person’s physical and mental health capabilities. A person can take serious hits on their self-esteem if they are suffering from a skin condition. Relationships can begin to suffer and you can become isolated and depressed. You may need to make changes to your general lifestyle choices in order to counteract your condition. But contrary to what you may believe, some skin conditions are treatable and you don’t have to suffer.
During his career as a dermatologist, Ioannides has seen it all, but the most common types of skin conditions he has come across include eczema, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and rosacea. It is always helpful to narrow down what the diagnosis could be, but you should always schedule an appointment with your dermatologist if you have a sudden breakout. One supplement that always seems to help, even in the slightest, is a high intake of vitamin D.
Also known as the sunshine vitamin, vitamin D is a critical vitamin to maintain your health. Not only does it help your teeth and bones stay strong, but is also acts as a muscle for both your nervous and immune systems. Some people don’t get the proper amount of vitamin D through natural processes, so it is important to eat foods that contain certain levels of the vitamin. Ioannides stated that there are several ways in which you can have a deficiency, including not eating enough foods with vitamin D, being overweight, not getting enough sunlight, and having pre-existing conditions. Signs of having a deficiency include constantly getting sick, being tired, depression, hair loss, and having back pain.
Ioannides always recommends vitamin D as a means for treatment because he has seen firsthand the miracles it can create. He says that people should get 10-15 minutes each day of sunlight and he also provides supplements to patients. Ioannides is clearly a big fan of sun exposure, stating, “I think that this not only helps the body produce vitamin D but has other positive benefits. The evidence for this is tenuous to some, but it has made a remarkable difference in my life.”
